Pixar release new images for ‘Brave’

(Written for Boolean Flix)

Disney Pixar have released a small selection of images online for their latest film, Brave.

Pixar’s latest picture since 2010’s Toy Story 3 tells the tale of Merida (voiced by Kelly Macdonald), an unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, who one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom.

In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old wise Woman (voiced by Julie Walters), where she is granted an ill-fated wish.

The latest images include a detailed look at Merida herself, along with a first glimpse of Queen Elinor (voiced by Emma Thompson), and King Fergus (voiced by Billy Connelly).

Another shows triplets Harris, Hubert and Hamish from a scene in the animated feature.

With the release of a teaser trailer earlier this year, Brave is Pixar’s first fairy tale, and looks set to be darker and more mature in tone than their previous films.

Due for release in America and the UK in August, see the exclusive images here and watch the teaser trailer below.
