Sweeney Todd director Tim Burton is in talks with producers to adapt Ransom Rigg’s best-selling novel Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children.
Best known for his own take on literature classics, Rigg’s 2011 novel is the latest in a string of projects Burton is lining up to work on in the coming years.
Set in an abandoned orphanage on a mysterious island, the narrative centers around sixteen-year-old Jacob who, following a family tragedy, sets off to the abandoned orphanage in Wales that his grandfather once told him spooky tales about.
Still in its early stages, this latest adaptation looks set to go hand in hand with Burton, whose previous pictures are renowned for their dark and quirky themes.
Next year sees the return of the director, with a TV adaptation and remake of his own movies Dark Shadows and Frankenweenie.
